Irene Katie Lysko

LYSKO, Irene Katie of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, on Friday, January 11th, 2019, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital at the age of 81. Beloved daughter of the late Michael (1963) and Katherine (Halewich) Lysko and dearly loved sister of Lorraine Clark (Wayne), the late Anthony “Tony” Lysko (1996) and the late Bill Lysko (1981) (late Shirley (2006)). Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and cousins in Saskatchewan and Ontario. Special aunt to William Lysko and his children Chelsea and Tristan. Predeceased by a nephew Todd (1976). Special friend and neighbor Audrey Weaver and friend Nancy Harris. Irene was born in Glaslyn, Saskatchewan on July 17, 1937. She taught over 35 years and her last teaching position was the Sacred Heart Catholic School in Langton.

A celebration of life will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Saturday, April 6 at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. The ashes will be placed in the Scattering Gardens in the Old St. Thomas Scattering Gardens. Remembrances may be made to Camp Trillium, Waterford or the St. Thomas Animal Shelter. A very special thanks to the V.O.N., P.S.W’s, the nurses and staff of the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Continuing Care Unit and 5th floor for their excellent care and compassion.
