Mary Elizabeth Olivene “Grandma” Lubick

LUBICK, Mary Elizabeth Olivene “Grandma” of Aylmer Ontario passed away in her home after a courageous fight against cancer, on April 3, 2020. Born April 27, 1938. Pre-Deceased by her father Frank Fishleigh (Mary), and Mother Olivene Chambers (Lawrence), sisters Carolyn Lanning and Debbie Homes (Dave). Elizabeth leaves behind her children Dale Roberts, Dennis Roberts (Brenda), Sherry Vicary (MIke), George Lubick, Roy Lubick (Sarah), and Liz Smith (Ron) as well as her brothers Bob Fishleigh (Karen), Frank Fishleigh (Joan), Glen Burke (Wendy) and Jim Chambers. She’ll be missed tremendously by 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews Liz was well known for her many dedicated years to the Aylmer Ladies Slow Pitch League, as well as running her own teams over the years. “The Angels” She was a tough lady who loved family gatherings, horses, motorcycles, building, gardening, camping, singing, writing poems, and a (never-ending) book of all her memories. She was known as a yodeling cowboy’s sweetheart by anyone who knew her and was instantly family to almost everyone she met. Grandma was full of spunk and vigor until the moment she had to leave us. She will be missed by many in her community. Cremation will take place with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. The family is very sad to not have been able to be with her in her final moments and we are doing our best to share memories online while we are separated during these times. If you would like to be a part of the group set up to share your thoughts and memories please contact Ron Smith on Facebook. She wants us all to be strong together.
