Police Ride to Remember takes off from OPC
Niagara Region Police Service Sergeant Shawn Briggs, front left, led the 132 officer and civilian cyclists as they left the Ontario Police College northeast of Aylmer for the 2014 Ride to Remember on Wednesday morning, Sept. 24. A Ride to Remember Committee member, Sgt. Briggs spoke on behalf of his colleagues who helped organize the event. In honour of Ontario’s police officers who have died in the line of duty, the Ride to Remember started at the OPC and made its way to Ottawa over the 710 kilometre four-day journey. The cycling trip would end at the Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Service on Sunday, Sept. 26.
