Oversize load stops traffic in Aylmer
An oversized load made its way through Aylmer westbound along Talbot Street on Monday morning, Oct. 6 starting just after 8 a.m. Along with an Ontario Provincial Police escort in front and behind, several utility trucks with workers were with the convoy to make sure the tall portable building on the flatbed truck didn’t interfere with any overhanging wires along Talbot Street. The workers also had to either move or briefly remove crosswalk components and low hanging traffic lights at two points along Talbot Street in order for the building to pass. The convoy took more than a half hour to make its way through town and traffic along Talbot Street at different points during that time was held up.
