High level men’s fastball entertains in Springfield
Kingston Axemen starting pitcher Jordan MacDonald came out on the 2-1 losing end of a game versus the Great Lakes Pirates at one of the diamonds at Malahide Community Place in Springfield on Saturday, June 13 during the 2015 International Softball Congress Canada East Qualifier tournament. The weekend-long men’s fastball tournament started on Friday night, continued all day Saturday but most of the games were rained out on Sunday. The top four teams from the tournament qualified for the 2015 ISC World Tournament in South Bend, Indiana later this summer. The top team from the tournament, the Waterdown Hammer, received a paid entry to the World Tournament as well as travel money. The other qualifying teams were the Great Lakes Pirates, the Kitchener Cubs and the Wiarton Nationals.
