EESS curlers host new program from Notre-Dame
East Elgin Secondary School curlers Anna Wiebe, left, and Hannah Silverthorne, right, were getting ready to sweep while Alana McNichol threw a rock during a scrimmage at the Aylmer Curling Club on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 23. Curlers from a new high school program at Notre-Dame, a French immersion Roman Catholic school in Woodstock, visited the Aylmer club that day but weren’t able to field a full team. EESS coach Steve Jones said the scrimmage time was beneficial for curlers from both schools. East Elgin’s boys and girls curling rinks host St. Thomas Central Elgin at the Aylmer Curling Club on Wednesday, Nov. 30, warm-up at 2:30 p.m. with the first ends starting at 2:45 p.m.
