Maple Syrup Fest begins at Springwater
Maia Gutowski, 5, of St. Thomas poured some sweetness onto her flapjack in the pancake house during day one of the Maple Syrup Festival at Springwater Conservation Area on Saturday morning, March 7. Running annually for well over 40 years, the Maple Syrup Festival continues at Springwater each weekend (Saturday and Sunday) in March and during the March Break (March 16-20) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The family fun includes sugar shanty tours of how maple syrup has been made throughout the years, horse drawn wagon rides, a farm animal exhibit, an interpretive wagon ride into Springwater Forest, a self-guided tour through the sugar bush, pancakes and sausages in the pancake house and outdoor games.
