Senior boys win football quarterfinal
Mario Verhaeghe of East Elgin Secondary School’s senior football team pounced on a host Parkside Collegiate Institute fumble during a Thames Valley Central quarterfinal on Friday afternoon, Nov. 11. EESS, which had trouble with its game during the regular season, finishing with a record of two wins and four losses, seemed to have gotten its act together, soundly defeating PCI 35-9. East Elgin will now take on London Saunders in a semifinal at TD Waterhouse Stadium, Western University, on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m.
