Jeanette Helmer

HELMER – Jeanette of Sparta, passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Monday, April 15th, 2024 in her 85th year.  Beloved wife and best friend of James Helmer, for 65 years.  Dearly loved mother of Keith Helmer (Pam), Kim Collier (Mike) and Charlene Walker (Wade).  Cherished grandmother of Brennan Collier, Shaye and Megan Helmer and Taryn and Kayla Walker.  Predeceased by her sister Valerie Roberts and husband Thomas Roberts.  Loving Aunt of Gwen Gowan (Ron), Lynne Roberts (Ken Ball), David Roberts and the late Thomas Roberts. Loving Great Aunt of T.J. Roberts (Nicole) and Kaitlyn McLain (Jake Geere). Lovingly remembered by several extended family members, neighbours and dear friend Lillian Hartford.  Jeanette was born in Barnehurst, England on June 28th, 1939, daughter of the late Malcolm and Gwendoline (Woodcraft) McPhail.

In keeping with Jeanette’s wishes, she has been cremated, and a private family service has already taken place.  Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Society.  Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas entrusted with arrangements.
