Peacefully in her 82nd year, Joyce Enid Pettit of Belmont passed away. Born on October 31st 1941 in Kingston Upon Thames Surrey, England to Frank and Elsie Hounsell. Beloved wife of Ralph Pettit for 63 years. Dear mother to Mary, Ann (Kim), James (Mary Ann), John (Amanda), Jeff (Karen) and Chris (Jennifer). Cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren and to 11 great grandchildren. Much loved aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Dearly missed by her furry friends Red and Daisy. Joyce loved her life out on the farm, tending to livestock and working around the farm. She was also a proud member of the Kingsmill Women’s Institute and the Belmont Lioness’ for many years. Joyce also enjoyed hosting many card parties and visiting with her neighbours and friends in her house on the farm. Friends will be received at the Bieman Funeral Home, Dorchester (3970 Hamilton Road, Dorchester, Ontario N0L 1G2) on Saturday October 21st 2023 from 10am to 12pm with a funeral service following afterwards. Burial will be at Dorchester Union Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
