Lee Nelles
Maurice “Lee” Nelles 1944 MAY 18 – 2022 AUG 19 – Lee passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of August 19th, 2022, in his 78th year. He is survived by his children, John Nelles and wife Edie, and Deborah Tutty; his sister Colleen Groote; and many dear nieces and nephews. He was the adored “Grandpa Bear” to Nathan, Bradley, Samantha, Rebecca, Ryan: and his great-grandson Dawson Lee (“Little Lee”). Predeceased by his parents Carl and Edna Nelles and beloved brother Gerald Nelles. A treasured father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Lee had unique character and taught us all the meaning of hard work, commitment, and strength. He lived out his years in Aylmer, Ontario, having built a beautiful home in a park-like setting which was his favorite place to be. He took joy and had pride in the fruits of his labour. Lee valued his family and friends and if you took a moment to talk to him, he would tell you something about his cherished family, most recent golf game always having a story or joke to bring a smile. He loved to golf and had a sign in his home that read, “Time spent golfing is not deducted from one’s lifespan,” and clearly, it wasn’t deducted from his. Whether for a game of crib, nice cold drink, or a humorous chat; his door was always open. He was generous with his time, attention and wouldn’t hesitate to lend a hand to anyone in need. Lee had the strength of a lion and the deep-down tenderness of a kitten. He will be forever remembered for his indomitable strength and wonderful sense of humour. We invite Lee’s family and friends an opportunity to share about him during the reception that will follow at the Aylmer Legion. Visitation was held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation-Burial, Straffordville Cemetery.
