Unprecedented support for rezoning

In a meeting unprecedented in decades of Malahide council, neighbours turned out in droves to support, rather than oppose, a request for a car painting and body shop in mostly residential Kingsmill.

Barry and Kristina Millard have a mobile car painting business, and want a permanent base for it. The only one out of a room full of supporters to oppose the application was another Malahide body shop owner, Mike Terry of Terry Auto Body of Avon.

Councillors voted unanimously after the hearing to approve a rezoning to allow the Millards to open the business in a shop in their backyard.
