Charged with stealing from charity
A St. Thomas area woman, 46, has been charged by Aylmer Police with stealing over $1,000 from a charity fundraiser for a former East Elgin Secondary School student who had a double-lung transplant last year.
The benefit for alumnus Josh Clark was organized in part by the Leadership program at EESS, and students from it reported an alleged theft to Aylmer Police on January 15.
The St. Thomas area woman volunteered to coordinate the event, Sgt. William Gibson said, but allegedly kept cash collected at the dinner.
