Aylmer approves Complex business plan
Aylmer councillors at their Tuesday, May 20 meeting approved sending out a request for proposals to consulting firms to bid on preparing a business plan to implement major proposed changes in how East Elgin Community Complex operates.
Malahide councillors had approved sending out the RFP at a meeting a few days prior.
Aylmer councillors also approved:
Dissolving the current Complex advisory committee and replacing it with a temporary ad hoc committee comprised of the mayors and administrators of both municipalities and the Complex general manager;
And suspending taking bookings for summer ice rentals and hall rentals in 2015 at the Complex.
In a five to two split vote, Aylmer councillors deferred spending up to $5,000 to have an engineering firm devise the cost of what it would take to move a new expanded Aylmer library into hall space at the Complex until the business plan is received.
