Crash north of Mount Salem sends one to hospital

A two-vehicle crash north of Mount Salem at the intersection of Springfield Road and John Wise Line sent one of the drivers to a local hospital on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 25. Emergency personnel were called to the scene at about 6:30 a.m. The intersection was closed to traffic for more than an hour for the vehicles to be towed away, debris to be cleared and for the police investigation. The driver of a silver Saturn was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle, a grey Jeep Cherokee Sport, were uninjured. No further information was immediately available.
