Junior Eagles in tourney final

Paiten Giesbrecht of East Elgin Secondary School tried without success to keep a stray ball in-bounds during the championship game against London Lucas at a Junior girls basketball tournament at London Oakridge Secondary School Saturday, Oct. 17. EESS won preliminary games against Clarke Road SS Friday night and host Oakridge Saturday at noon to advance to the final that night. Lucas dominated the first half and, while victorious in the end, EESS narrowed the gap in scoring to 37-43.
