Archie VanRooijen

Archie Anthony VanRooijen of Lyons passed away peacefully on April 7 2026 at the age of 68. Dear son of Agnes VanRooijen of Aylmer. Brother of Eleanor of Calgary, John of Lyons and Karen McLean of Melbourne. Proud uncle of Shauna (Jacob Farquharson) McLean and Jenna (Zach Power) McLean. Archie was predeceased by his father Tony (1984) and brother in-law Graham Mclean (2024).  He will be sadly missed by longtime friends, the Beveridge girls, Alison Jill, Fiona and Moira.

Archie was a retired Ironworker foreman subcontracting in a number of factories in the London area mainly at Ford Talbotville for Comstock Canada.  He also farmed for many years and was keenly interested in anything mechanical – either industrial or on the farm.  He was an avid sports enthusiast especially F1 auto racing but not a Leafs fan!

A private service was performed at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas. Any donations to St Thomas Elgin General Hospital foundation in memory of Archie would be greatly appreciated.
