Predeceased by her brother John Schaap and sister Ricky Walters (late Gus). Born in Tilburge, the Netherlands on January 27, 1941, daughter of the late William and Hermina (VanderHorst) Schaap.
Carol and Paul shared a life deeply rooted in family, farming, and a steadfast commitment to one another. Their lives were intertwined not only through marriage but also through the work they shared each day on the farm. Carol was the heart of the home and farm, whether lending a hand in the fields or preparing meals that brought family and friends together around the table.
She took great pride in her vegetable gardens and spent countless hours tending her beautiful flower beds. An exceptional cook and baker, Carol found joy in creating delicious meals and treats that were always made with love. Together, Carol and Paul travelled extensively and enjoyed 25 years of wintering in Florida, embracing the warmth and sunshine while creating many cherished memories.
In her later years, Carol’s greatest joy was her family. She was always the first to offer a helping hand, whether driving her grandchildren where they needed to go or proudly cheering them on from the sidelines at their many activities.
In her later years, Carol faced the challenges of dementia with courage and grace, supported by the love of her family and caregivers. There will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows R. C. Church on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
