GRANNEN, Alice (née Jones)
Alice Grannen passed away on April 14, 2023, at the age of 86, at the Peterborough Regional Hospital, due to heart complications. Alice was the beloved mother of Judy Revoy, Linda Grannen, and the late Tom Grannen. She was also a cherished grandmother to Selina Revoy, Christina and Leah Tanner. Alice was predeceased by her husband Steve in 2009. Alice and Steve met in London at 19 and were married for 50 years. Alice was the dear sister of Grace Jones, Connie Kesteloot, and David Jones. She was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Jones and her parents Inez (née Rodgers) and Gordon Jones. Sister-in-law to Judy Demarino. Predeceased by Steve’s siblings; Helen White, Marie Sherlock, Lillian Pawlovich, Barbara Shipp and William Grannen. Survived by several nieces and nephews.
Alice grew up on a farm in Copenhagen, Malahide, ON and was the eldest of 5 children. While raising 3 young children, Alice worked as a Real Estate Agent for 32 years. Alice and Steve were involved in the community of Lambeth, ON where they resided for over 53 years. Alice was an active member and president of the Lambeth Ladies Auxiliary Legion (branch 501) and proudly received her 50-year pin. She was a kind and caring social person. Always ready to lend a hand and with a cheerful smile. She loved attending church services and the lady’s coffee talk bible study at the London Westview baptist church.
Alice and Steve have both been cremated and will be buried together at a cemetery service to be held on Friday, May 19 at 12:00 at the Dunboyne Cemetery, Malahide, ON, 49480 Calton Line, followed by a celebration of Life at the Aylmer Legion #81 at 211 John St. N, Aylmer, ON from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. For those attending the cemetery, the grounds are uneven and footwear needs to be taken into consideration. If you cannot make the cemetery your attendance is welcomed at the Celebration of Life. Reverend Phil Butler will be officiating the cemetery service.
