Anne Pynenburg

Pynenburg, Anneliese Ruth (Anne) of Aylmer and formerly of Niagara-on-the-Lake passed away peacefully at Sakura House on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Loving mother of Rachel Goulet of Grimsby, Mark Pynenburg(Jeannine Cloutier) of Ottawa, Melissa Hoffer(Keith) of Aylmer and Tara Bredin(Andy) of Niagara Falls. Adoring Oma of Carter, Luke, Jonah, Keiran, Elliot, Eliese, Grace, James and Jack. Born in Eschwege, Germany on May 24, 1954, daughter of the late Hans and Katherine(Reuffurth) Roessler. Sister to Klaus Roessler (Laura) and Christa Galbraith (Andrew).

When Anne was five, her family immigrated to Canada, and settled in Toronto. At home, she learned the value of serving others and hard work. She took pride in starting work at the Eaton Centre at the age of 15. Anne, together with Bert Pynenburg, raised their family in Niagara-on-the-Lake. They operated small businesses, including her video store where hours of movie talk and love and laughter were shared. Anne made lifelong connections with friends and family, sharing her quirky sense of humour, her playfulness, her faith, and her supportive nature.  Anne had a flair for creating and decorating, gardening, and organizing. She loved being helpful to her children, sharing these gifts and others, with joy and abundance. Above all, she found her greatest joy in being Oma to her cherished grandchildren. Oma spent hours playing and creating, cultivating a love of horses, cars, monster trucks, trains, building, Barbies, and especially Lego. Anne/Mom/Oma loved and is loved.

We are grateful for the care and dedication of the staff and volunteers at Sakura House.
