SILVERTHORN – Barbara Joyce (Hutchings)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Joyce Silverthorn of St. Thomas at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, January 1st, 2023 at the age of 86. Dearly loved wife of 62 years of the late William Wesley Silverthorn (2021). Dearly loved mother of Fred Silverthorn, Randy Silverthorn (Rita), Darlene Reinholt (Ron), Mary Smith (Kevin) and the late Kelli Silverthorn (2005). Loved grandmother of Ryan Silverthorn, Johnathon Reinholt (Ashley), Christopher Reinholt, James Hudson-Silverthorn and Melissa Silverthorn-Peters and great-grandmother of Maxwell Silverthorn and Aiden and Owen Reinholt. Dear sister of the late Mildred Caron (John) and Agnes Adams (Don). Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Barbara was born in Aylmer on August 18th, 1936, daughter of the late Fred and Edith Mary (Hammet) Hutchings. She was retired from the Thames Valley District School Board. Barb enjoyed many wonderful years making memories with Bill and their family at their trailer in Springwater Conservation Campground.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas where a private funeral service will be held. Interment to take place in South Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or Epilepsy Ontario. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to the 5th Floor Staff at STEGH for the care and compassion given as well as Karen Curtis for her outreach of care, support and compassion.
