Ireland, (Bob) Robert Harry (March 25, 1928 – August 13, 2023)
Passed away, peacefully, after a long and well lived life, (Bob) Robert H. Ireland, a resident of Tillsonburg Retirement Residence and formerly of Port Burwell, at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on August 13th, 2023, at the age of 95. Bob was born in Woodstock, to the late Harry and Mae (nee Tucker) Ireland. Bob was a World War Two Veteran. Bob was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 524 (Port Burwell). Bob will be remembered as the Store Manager of the L.C.B.O., Port Burwell for several years. Bob is predeceased by his wife (Kay) Kathleen Gertrude (Hynes) Ireland (2017) and by his late wife Beula Alberta Ireland (1985). Bob is survived by his son John (Tina) Ireland, of London. Lovingly remembered by his caregivers Fred Brown (2021) (his wife Bev Brown, 2010), Leslie Martin (husband Greg), Julie Smida and Gillian Brown. Survived by his stepchildren John Sutherland, Joe Sutherland, Wendy Sutherland, Allan (Kathy) Sutherland, and Brenda (Kevin) Knight. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. We would like to extend sincere thanks to the Tillsonburg Retirement Residence and to the TDMH 2N & 1S staff, for making Bob comfortable in his last days.
In keeping with Bob’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. At a later date, a private graveside service to remember Bob will be held in the Tillsonburg Cemetery (Columbarium 7).
