McCARRON, Charles Emmett “Mike”

Of St. Thomas, formerly of Acton, Grand Valley, Guelph, and Quesnel, BC, passed away at his home, with his family around him, on Monday, August 22, 2022, in his 87th year.  He is survived by his wife and best friend for 63 years, Mimi McCarron, and their three children: Michael McCarron (Carmen), David McCarron (Ornella), and Josepha Taylor (Mark), as well as seven grandchildren: Gillian, Calvin, Amanda, Ben, Mitchell, Abbey, and Bridget.

Mike was a Navy veteran and a millwright by trade.  He was a man of many interests and talents.  He loved camping and fishing, especially in Algonquin Park, French River, and British Columbia.  Most recently, Mike enjoyed perch fishing on Lake Erie.  He played the mouth organ and tap danced to the joy of many.  He was an avid euchre and card player.  Mike loved playing backyard badminton and picking berries.  For many years he was a professional Santa Claus.

He will be remembered for having a wonderful sense of humour, being an amazing friend and help to all his neighbours, and being an involved, loving grandfather, father, and husband.

A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, September 17th from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the farm of Mark and Josepha Taylor, 13557 Belmont Rd., Belmont, ON.
