Diana Anna Niville (LeClair)

It is with sadness, we the family announce the passing of our much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many, Diana (LeClair) Niville, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on Monday, October 4th, 2021, at the age of 92. Born in Chatham, to the late Emiel LeClair and Irma (Herseele) LeClair. Diana is predeceased by her much loved husband and best friend of 47 years, Gerard (Jerry) M. Niville (February 5, 2005). Diana will be remembered for her many years residing at RR5 Langton (Houghton), where she grew tobacco with her late husband Jerry, living at the same farm since 1973. Diana was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Langton, was a member of the Houghton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed her time spent playing cards with the Langton Merry Makers. Diana loved going on the shopping bus trips with her friends. She also enjoyed going out fishing. Diana was always an enthusiastic card player, whether it was crazy eights with her grandchildren or euchre with the Langton Merry Makers, she was always the happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

Always a loving mother to her children, and a caring grandmother to: Ron Niville, of RR5 Langton and his children Kaleigh (Justin) (their son Bryson) and Paige (Wade); Denise (Paul Moeyaert), of RR1 Clear Creek and their son Devin; Cheryl (Renato Molignano), of Georgetown and their children Olivia (Mark) and Darren. Diana is survived by her sister Shirley (Stanley Viscontas), of Aylmer and by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In keeping with Diana’s wishes, a Funeral Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 9th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 40 Queen Street, Langton, by Rev. Fr. Ben Huyge, of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Tillsonburg. Interment follows in Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, 24 Albert St., Langton. Friends, neighbours and relatives are invited to attend public visitation, which will be held on Friday, October 8th, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, Langton. All guests must pre-register for an available time slot via Diana’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by calling the funeral home between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In keeping with Ontario Government Regulations, all attendees must wear a face covering and are asked to maintain social distancing guidelines.
