Donna O’Brien

Donna Carolyn O’Brien

May 13, 1943 – August 10, 2021

It’s with heavy hearts we announce that Donna Carolyn O’Brien’s journey here on earth peacefully came to an end after a courageous battle with cancer on August 10, 2021 at the age of 78. She was surrounded by the love of her family, friends and the compassionate staff at Huron Hospice. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bob O’Brien of 58 years. Deeply missed and cherished by her three children Terry (Theresa), Todd (Lori) and Shelly and grandchildren Quinn (Cassandra), Lexi (Greg), Delayna (Tyler), Hudson (Meghan) and Bennett (Emma). She will be profoundly missed by many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren. She is leaving behind her sister in-law Joyce Nesbitt, brother/sister in- law Austin & Marilyn O’Brien and predeceased by her infant son Timmy, brother Bill Nesbitt, sister Phyllis Hudson and many brother & sister in-laws.

After a hardworking lifetime dedicated to her family, friends and community she touched the lives of many people close and afar. From her Christmas baking, homemade soups, ice cream cakes, and a card for every occasion she truly lived a life where she always put others before herself. She was a dedicated member of the Seaforth Optimist, a lifetime member of the Legion, and the St. James Parish community. She was a devoted hairdresser in her home for 50 years and she travelled to local nursing homes and clients’ houses when they were not able to make it to her. Upon retirement, her love for playing cards grew fonder and she made many lifelong friends within the card community.  Bob and Donna hosted many memorable backyard parties together and they shared a love for camping over the years. As she joins the heavenly angels above, those who surrounded her with love and support will continue to live their lives to the fullest each and every day to honour her legacy and the lives of those she touched around her.
