Eric Jacobs

Mr. Eric Jacobs, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, in Sarnia, at the age of 66. Eric was born in Simcoe, Ontario and is a son of Raymonde “Simone” Vandenbilcke and the late Andre Jacobs (1974).
Stepson of the late Prosper Vandenbilcke (2016). Loving husband and best friend of Cathy Van Damme. Son-in-law of the late Rita Mulders (2022) and John Mulders (2007). Proud father of Christopher Jacobs (Aubrey), Amy Choi (Sam) and Andrew Jacobs. Supportive stepfather to Carolyn Van Damme (Glen Norton), Thomas Van Damme (Natasha) and Mark Van Damme (Mallory). Grandfather to 16 wonderful grandchildren. Survived by siblings Brenda Cole (Alan), Randy Jacobs (Rina), the late Willy Jacobs (2020) (Noreen) and sister-in-law Marianne Mulders (Sam Girgis). Eric will be missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. He had a zest for life and his greatest accomplishment was his family. Each Christmas was spent making traditional Lukken cookies with family. He also was proud of his 47 years service with Union Gas. Eric’s hobbies included fishing and building various projects around the house. Following his wishes cremation has taken place.

Eric rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg until the Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from Our Lady of Sorrows Church, in Aylmer, Ontario. Interment of ashes followed Mass at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Aylmer. In lieu of flowers, donations to L.H.S.C. Regional Cancer Program, L.H.S.C. Heart and Stroke Research or St. Joseph’s Hospice may be left at the funeral home.
