Erna Reska

Reska, Erna of Aylmer passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in her 92nd year surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Hans Reska (2013) and dear mother of John Reska and wife Johanna of Aylmer. Cherished and loving grandmother of Melanie (Steve) of Aylmer and Julie of London. Adored great-grandmother of Lucas, Aria and Lily. Dear sister of Hilde Dietterle (Helmut) of Germany, brother-in-law Carl(Christa) and niece, nephews and their families. Born in Tarantino, Romania on December 22, 1930, daughter of the late Ferdinand and Elsa Winter. After moving to Canada in 1953, Erna met her husband Hans in Aylmer and they worked together throughout the years on their tobacco farm. Erna was a member of the German Canadian Club and St. John’s Lutheran Church. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Prayers Wednesday at 6 p.m. prior to visitation. A funeral will be held at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home on Thursday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. (Masks and social-distancing are required) Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
