Helen Stefan
STEFAN, Helen Elizabeth
(November 12, 1930 – March 27, 2023)
Passed away, peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 27th, 2023, with loving family by her side, Helen Elizabeth (Morrison) Stefan of Tillsonburg and formerly of RR1 Vienna as the result of injuries sustained earlier in a tragic auto mobile accident, in her 93rd year. Born in Welland, Ontario daughter of the late Michael Morrison (1949) and the late Martha (Toth) Morrison (1971).
Helen was well-liked by many people. She was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Tillsonburg and the St. Mary’s Catholic Women’s League. She was a shareholder with the Delhi Hungarian Home. Her family was her main focus and she also enjoyed gardening, flowers, her Tim Horton Coffee runs, attending nine o’clock Sunday morning Mass and crocheting. Helen had a great love for people.
Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years Steve Stefan (July 18, 2003). Much loved mother and mother-in-law of: Helen Lounsbury (Gary Hewitt), RR7 Simcoe; Margaret (Don Zerbes), RR1 Vienna; Nancy (Dennis Verspeeten), Oshawa; Steven Stefan (Angela), Tillsonburg. Proud and loving grandma of eight grandchildren: Angela Kerry (Scott), Andrea Morris (Brent), and Daryl Lounsbury; Brad Verspeeten (Amanda), Melissa Olan (Brent); Dylan Stefan (Leanne), Matthew Stefan and Tristan Stefan and also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by a brother John Morrison (1965).
Friends, neighbours, and relatives were invited to attend a public visitation held on Monday, April 3rd, 2023, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg. St. Mary’s Catholic Woman’s League Prayers took place Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. in the Verhoeve Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Helen Elizabeth Stefan was conducted on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 51 Venison Street, Tillsonburg, by Rev. Father Seejo John. Interment followed in the St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Cemetery, Courtland.
