Maria Ohler

Ohler, Maria passed away peacefully at Terrace Lodge, Aylmer, on Thursday, November 16, 2023 in her 90th year. Dear mother of John Bohm (Nancy) of Aylmer and Michael Bohm (Susan) of Peterborough.  Loving grandmother of Kyle Bohm of Aylmer, Carly Beauchamp of Pembroke, Hilari Dennis-Bohm (Brendan) of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Robert Wood (Mariella) of Smith Falls, Larissa Bartman (Donald) of Carp, Colleen Wood (Sean) of Toronto and Victoria Taylor (Ben) of Bellville. Also great-grandmother of Gavin, Finn, Sasha, Rowan, Clara and Leo.  She will also be missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister, Sophie Nasswetter and predeceased by her brother Michael Weber. Maria was born in Bistritz, Romania, daughter of the late Michael and Maria (nee Zehschnetzler) Weber.  She lived in Austria for 10 years and then came with her family to Canada in 1954.  She lived in Aylmer for most of her life and worked at Hayes-Dana in St. Thomas for 35 years.  Maria’s greatest joy was helping others in any way she could.  She will fondly be remembered for her delicious baking and her colourful quilts. Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, North of Aylmer on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with interment of ashes at a private family ceremony at the Aylmer Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Terrace Lodge for their kind care.
