Marilyn McNames
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn Louise McNames (Hawley), who left us peacefully on August 28, 2025. Marilyn was born on May 7, 1942, in St. Thomas, Ontario. She spent most of her life in Aylmer, a community she proudly called home.
Marilyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, William (Bill) McNames, in 2014. She was a devoted mother to her daughters Sheri (Jeff) Smith and Lori McNames, and a loving grandmother to Shaye, Cale (Grace), and Lexi. She is also survived by her dear brother Ron (Jane) Hawley, as well as her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathy (Pat) Connor, and Kim Pitre (Garth Wickens). Marilyn was the proud aunt to Kenzie (Ralph), Krista (Dave), Stephen (Tara), Jodi (Joel), Rob (Lauren), and Janice (Jason), who brought her much joy. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Lloyd and Marion Hawley, and her in-laws, Earl and Elaine McNames.
For 44 years, Marilyn worked as a Chiropractic Assistant, first with Dr. Roger Partlow and later with Dr. Robert Warnock, with whom she remained close friends. She traveled extensively with Bill, both for business and for Shrine events, where she made many lasting friendships along the way.
Marilyn had a circle of dear friends and extended family, too many to name individually, but each of you held a special place in her heart. She cherished the phone calls, visits, texts, FaceTimes, Facebook chats and conversations with all those whom she cared for.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Kim Ivan, Jace Ivan, and Deb Burry for their unwavering love and support during this time. Your kindness and dedication have been invaluable to Marilyn and the entire family. Marilyn’s warmth, kindness, and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her. In her memory, let us continue to share laughter, support one another, and cherish the bonds of family and friendship that meant so much to her.
Marilyn would also like to extend her heartfelt thanks to the 5th floor staff, especially nurses Abby, Jared, Ralph, and Bobbi, who cared for her with compassion, humor, and attention (just the way she wanted). Marilyn often spoke fondly of these nurses, whom she considered her favourites and she told them that. The family is deeply appreciative of the care and support they received. A special mention also goes to Ang (PSW) and Dar (unit clerk) for their outstanding help and care.
