Melvin Beech

BEECH – Melvin Albert Thomas, of St Thomas, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2022, at the age of 86.  Mel is loved and will be missed by his dearly beloved wife Joan Beech of 66+ years; by his cherished children: Deb Hulet (Charlie), the late Dave Beech (Mary), Steve Beech (Laurie) and Cindy Van Acker (Rory). He loved and is loved by grandchildren: Bryan Flagel (Shasta), Chad Flagel, Ang Flagel (Val Korakas), Jeff Beech (Kelly), the late Tommy Beech, Kevin Beech, Lisa Savard (Matt), Kyle Beech (Shanna), Brit Vanrooy (Josh), Kim Van Acker, Stacey Van Acker  (Josh), and Steph Walzak (Cory).  Great Grandchildren: Nikkiesha (Ryan), Kennzie, Ashton, Sydney, Mykyla, Hannah, Ava, Nolan, Audrey, Mya, Jacob, Gabe, Owen and Liam, along with many extended family members.  Mel was born in London, Ontario Jun 3, 1936 to the late Harry and Ula Beech.  Home was in Mount Salem where he grew up, became a mechanic and later was an Independent Tool & Equipment Sales business owner.  Under the Kennel name, Jolvin, he bred and exhibited many champion show dogs.  Mel was an all breed dog judge and extensively traveled the world judging. He will be missed by his furry friends Siesta and Bean.  Thank you to Care Partners and LHSC Cancer Centre who accompanied his journey and 5th floor staff at STEGH for their kind care.  A celebration of life will be held at the Columbus Club 265 Wellington Street, St. Thomas on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 1-4pm.  Sharing of memories at 2pm are welcome.
