Pat Monteith

Monteith, Patricia Anne “Pat” of St. Thomas passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 5th, 2024, at her residence, at the age of 76. Dearly loved wife and best friend of Edmond “Ed” Monteith and much loved mother of Matt McVeigh and Mark and his wife Kate McVeigh. Cherished grandmother of Van, Will and Jovi. Dear sister of Judy McCoubrey (Hugh) and Karen McIntyre (Bob). Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews and friends. Pat was born in St. Thomas on December 10th, 1947, the daughter of the late James and Joan (Bill) Matthews. She taught with the Thames Valley School Board in Guidance and Physical Education over 31 years. She coached a number of sports including boys and girls volleyball. She also enjoyed mentoring school student councils. Pat was a member and past president of the ladies league of the St. Thomas Curling Club and a past member of the Board of the Y.W.C.A. She was a member of the Iron Creek Golf Club.

The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Tuesday, April 9th from 2-5 p.m. A private family service will be held on Wednesday. Cremation has taken place. Remembrances may be made to the new St. Thomas Animal Shelter, the London Regional Cancer Centre or the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation (funds for a new M.R.I.)
