Robert Sinden

Robert John Sinden, born July 6, 1950 – entered Heaven January 5, 2026.

Robert was an extraordinary man whose life left an enduring mark on nearly everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor, and friend, Robert lived with purpose, generosity, and an unwavering faith that shaped every part of his life.

Robert was a successful businessman and a trusted mentor, both spiritually and professionally. He had a rare ability to see potential in others and to guide them with wisdom, humility, and genuine care. For many young people, Robert was far more than a mentor—he was a surrogate father, offering steady leadership, encouragement, and love that influenced the course of their lives.

A man who knew and deeply loved Jesus, Robert’s faith was not only spoken but lived. His life reflected compassion, integrity, and a servant’s heart, and he freely shared his spiritual insight with those seeking guidance. His faith was the foundation upon which he built his life, led his family, practiced his career, and formed his relationships.

Robert had a deep love for the outdoors. In his younger years, he found joy and exhilaration skiing, and later embraced the beauty and challenge of kayaking the Great Lakes—places where he felt closest to God’s creation and most at peace.

He was a devoted son to the late Roy and Marie Sinden, brother to the late David Sinden (Helgy), Kathy Rycroft (Don), and George Sinden (Karen). Robert was a proud and loving father to Leah Cahill (Kevin) and Alison Gibson (Dave), fur baby Laya, and a cherished grandfather to Jazzie McRae, Hayden and Lily Gibson, who brought him immense joy.

Above all else, Robert was the incredible life partner, best friend, and beloved husband of Ellenore Sinden. Their love journey began in 1969, married in 1972, and shared 54 remarkable years of marriage filled with love, laughter, faith, and unwavering commitment. Their bond was a true testament to partnership and devotion.

Robert will be profoundly missed by his countless friends, family members, and all those whose lives he touched. While our hearts grieve his passing, we find comfort in knowing that he has been welcomed by our Lord and Savior, and that heaven celebrates a life so faithfully and beautifully lived.

“Well done, good and faithful servant…..” Matthew 25:23
