Rose Csakli

Csakli, Rose of Aylmer passed away peacefully at the Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. She was 91 years old. Beloved wife of the late George Csakli(1997). Dear mother of George Csakli(Bonnie) of St. Thomas, Hilda Schwager(late John) of Tillsonburg & Linda Walker(Jon) of Aylmer. Loving Nana Rose of Jennifer(Justin), Michelle(Vince), Sheena, John(Ginna), Dayna(Jordan), Scott(Jill), Clint(Annabelle) and Jane(Grant). Great-grandmother of Alexandra, Bryn, Carleigh, Lachan, Holden, Gaby, J.T., Ellie, Bo, Lakey and Theo. Cherished sister of Katherine Fabi(late Martin) and sister-in-law of Maureen Trudeau. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother John Mergler. Born in Romania on May 3, 1934, daughter of the late John and Rosina(Rosenau) Mergler. Rose was proud of her Saxon heritage. Together, Rose and George worked side by side on their tobacco and cash crop farm for many years. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a proud, active member of the German Canadian Club, where she loved lending a hand in the kitchen. Rose’s gift for baking was treasured by many; her delicate pastries and her legendary five-layer cake will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 6-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
