Val Van Dyk

Van Dyk, Val of Aylmer peacefully passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, November 21, 2024 in her 75th year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Van Dyk(2009). Dear mother of Kenneth Van Dyk(Kimberly) of Aylmer and Douglas Van Dyk(Stephanie) of Bridgetown, Nova Scotia.  Loving grandmother of Tyler, Colby, Quinn, Aaron, Adalyn and Sloane.  Sister of Judy Howard(Art), Allan Mennie(Suzanne) and Robert Mennie. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her sister Sally Duin(Peter). Born in Alliston, Ontario on July 20, 1950, daughter of the late Frederick and Grace(Field) Mennie. Val worked for Ontario Health at Home and retired in 2015. She enjoyed being involved in the community through the Aylmer Malahide Museum and Assumption School. Val and Joe were passionate about youth soccer and were integral in the creation of the soccer fields south of Aylmer. At Val’s request, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Queen of Peace Cemetery on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Val’s life will be held at the Knights of Columbus Club following the graveside service.
