Vivian Pinch

Vivian Irene Pinch (Laur), age 89, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Friday, September 19th, 2025 at Extendicare Port Stanley. She was born on January 17th, 1936 to the late Delmer and Ruby (Lee) Laur. On February 20th, 1954 she was united in marriage to Barry Pinch. They were married for almost 68 years until Barry’s death in 2022.

Vivian lived her entire life in the Aylmer area, graduating from Aylmer High School in 1952. She attended Westervelt College and worked at various part-time jobs while her children were growing up, including secretarial roles, tobacco harvest and retail. Her last two jobs included working in the office at the Imperial Auction Exchange and then for Doyle and Prendergast law firm, assisting with real estate transactions.

Vivian loved Sunday suppers with Deb and Tom and their family; Saturday evenings with Barry and their friends; time by the family swimming pool; and cheering on her children in sports and other activities. She was also a member of the Aylmer Kinettes, including serving one year as President. In retirement, Barry and Vivian spent time traveling in their RV, wintering in Arizona and visiting their children in Western Canada and the United States.

Vivian is survived by her children Deb (Tom) Benner of St. Thomas; Wendy (Dougal) Hines of Quesnal BC; Terry (Kim) Pinch of Fox Crossing, Wi; and Cindy, (Chuck) Guillas of Grande Prairie Alberta. She is also survived by her grandchildren Melissa, Laurie, Justin, Matt, Katie, Kirsten, Sean, Keenan and Leaf. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marie, her brothers Lee and Keith and her son Mike.
At the family’s request, a funeral service will not be held. Interment will be at the Aylmer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners Elgin would be appreciated. Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
