William “Bill” Craig

Craig – William “Bill” of Valleyview Home, St. Thomas and formerly of Aylmer, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, May 13th, 2022 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of Rhea (Facey) (Allen) Craig and the late Marie (Sullivan) Craig. Dearly loved father of Larry Craig (Jane) and Anne Bailey. Cherished grandfather of Erin Craig (Greg), Janelle Drew (Joe), Laura Bailey (Grayden) and Craig Bailey and great grandfather of Hailey, Georgia, Cora and Lucy. Lovingly remembered by a number of family members and friends. Bill was the last of his family. Bill was born in Courtwright on January 20th, 1924, son of the late William and Hazel (Clunas) Craig. Bill served in the Canadian Air Force during WWII. He was a member of the Royal Legion in Aylmer and St. Thomas. Bill was an avid bowler, curler, golfer and a beautiful dancer. He was a retired electrician and worked for Wilson and Somerville for 41 years. Bill was a 75 year member of the IBEW for over 75 years.
A private family service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Tuesday, May 17th at 1:00pm. Cremation has taken place with interment of ashes in Holy Angels’ Cemetery. Remembrances in Bill’s memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Elgin-St. Thomas or London Regional Cancer Program.
