Janny Bijleveld

BIJLEVELD, Janny of AgeCare, Aylmer passed peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the age of 78. Dearly loved mother of Allan vanVoorn (Kimberly), Rhonny Johannes vanVoorn and Jennifer Dobson (Mike). Cherished Oma of Jessica, Nicolas, Jesse, Kaitlin, Carson and Sierra. Dear sister of Fritz, Wim and Nelly. Lovingly remembered by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Janny was married to Johannes “Hans” vanVoorn for over 17 years. Dear friend of Brenda and Mike Streib. Janny was born in Holland on December 14th, 1947, the daughter of Fritz and Nelly (Smits) Bijleveld. She worked as a PSW until her retirement. She was a soldier in the Salvation Army and worked in the kitchen for many functions and also volunteered with the Christmas Kettles.

A celebration of Janny’s life will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends prior from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the New St. Thomas Animal Shelter.
