John Hordyk

John Hordyk, born June 10, 1935 in s-Gravenzande, The Netherlands, was called to his eternal home on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in Aylmer, Ontario, at the age of 91 years and one day. After a short illness, John passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. We give thanks that he is now in the presence of his Saviour, whom he loved and served throughout his life.

John was the beloved husband of Tina (Bylsma) Hordyk.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Len and Helen Hordyk of Molesworth, Ontario; Ron and Cindy Hordyk of Vienna, Ontario; John and Wilma Hordyk of Strathroy, Ontario; Lorraine and Steve Broer of Aylmer, Ontario; David and Marianne Hordyk of Kitchener, Ontario.

He is also survived by two brothers and one sister and was a cherished Opa to 22 grandchildren and 34 great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought him deep joy.

John was predeceased by his parents Len and Nelly Hordyk, two brothers, one sister, and his grandson Dan Hordyk.

Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 2-5:00 p.m. A celebration of life will take place at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church on Monday, June 15, at 11:00 a.m. A private interment in the Calton Cemetery will precede the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to Canadian Foodgrains, Bible League Canada or the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
