Clara Cosyns
COSYNS, Clara Mary (nee Vanderhaegen) (1930-2021) –
It is with great sadness that we, the Cosyns family, announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law and friend to many, Clara Mary (Vanderhaegen) Cosyns, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on November 26th, 2021, in her 92nd year. Born in Zeneta, Saskatchewan, to the late Jules Vanderhaegen and late Marina (Ponselle) Vanderhaegen. Clara farmed tobacco in the Aylmer area for 35 years, alongside her late husband of 45 wonderful years, Andre Cosyns (1995). Clara was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Aylmer and in her spare time she enjoyed teaching classes and creating many beautiful paper toles, and ceramics and was a member of the Norwich Lawn Bowling Club. Clara was the proud and loving mother to three children and their families: Debbie & Art Vandendriessche, of Langton; Wendy & Glen Rohrer, of Tillsonburg; Brian & Mary Cosyns, of Aylmer. Dear grandmother to Andrea & Kieran Taylor, Darryl Vandendriessche, Brent & Julia Rohrer, Brandon & Amy Rohrer, Michael & Irma Cosyns, Diane & Jeff Ingram. Dear great grandma to Kennedy, and Madden Vandendriessche, Patrick, Lukas, and Maggie Rohrer, Lincoln, and Carter Cosyns, Cale, and Ivy Ingram and soon to be born baby boy Rohrer (Brandon and Amy). Predeceased by her siblings Marie-Jose Maenhaut, Andrew Vanderhaegen, Albert “Hubby” Vanderhaegen, and lovingly remember by her sister-in-law Marilyn Verhoeve. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Clara’s expressed wishes, a Private Traditional Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, Tillsonburg. Burial follows in the Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Langton. All who knew Clara are welcomed to attend a public visitation, scheduled on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg. Please note masks must be worn and social distancing maintained.
