Sally Haayema

Haayema, Sally was welcomed into her heavenly home at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Dick Haayema(2022). Dear mother of Tony(Ann) of Port Bruce, Andy(Brenda) of Aylmer, Rick(Nell) of Eden and Jeff(Trish) of Manitoulin Island. Loving grandmother of Scott(Ashley), Brandon(Hilda), Erin(Aaron), Hannah(Gareth), Zach(Marcie), Samantha(Greg), Alyssa(Kevin) and great-grandmother of Drew, Adrianna, Margaret, Elanor, Arthur, Carter, Layton, Holland, Miller and Amelia. Also survived by her brothers George Hooghiem(Corrie), Jack Hooghiem(Corrie), Gerald “Gab” Hooghiem(Cher) and sisters-in-law Ina and Jane.  Predeceased by her brothers John and Tom Hooghiem and sister Nellie Hertner. Born in Anjum, Friesland, The Netherlands on May 24, 1936, daughter of the late Andries and Eva(Mosselman) Hooghiem. Sally’s greatest joy was her family. She was a faithful member of the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church. Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday from 6-8:00 p.m. A burial service will be held at the Aylmer Cemetery on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. followed by the funeral service at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.  Donations to the East Elgin Community Assistance Program (Aylmer Corner Cupboard) would be appreciated.
