Line up for annual waste drop-off day despite rain
Cars and pickup trucks were lined up despite the rain on Saturday morning, Sept. 17 for the annual household hazardous waste and electronics recycling depot day at East Elgin Community Complex. Open to Aylmer and Malahide residents, the depot accepted various hazardous waste items such as paints and solvents, pesticides and herbicides, motor oil and other vehicle fluids, old light bulbs and batteries along with various worn out electronics items like televisions and computer components. Most of personnel on hand to accept the items from local residents were volunteers, both staff and councillors, from Aylmer and Malahide.
