Hill, Margaret Anne “Penny” of St. Thomas passed away at St Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, September 3, 2026. Best friend and wife to Gary Hill. Loving mother of Wendell Hill and wife Leslie; Carrie Woolley and husband Scott. Grandma of Lynsey (Dwaine), Taylor (Ryan), Emma (David), Hanna (Nathan), Abby, Maggy, Niven, Rene and Riley. Great-grandmother of William, Andy, Aurora and George. Survived by sister Vickie Thompson, brothers Ricky Van Velzer and Kevin Van Velzer, her brothers-in-law Jerry Buchner and David Hill (Donna). She is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Joan Buchner, Karen Willsey (late Ivan), brother David Van Velzer, niece Tracy Van Velzer and sister-in-law Barbara Lalonde (late Richard). Penny was born in St. Thomas, daughter of the late Stan and Dorothy Van Velzer. A private family interment will be held in the Springfield Cemetery.
