Two charged in Bayham drug bust
Two Bayham men were arrested and charged with several illegal drug-related offences following searches at three properties on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
A 38-year-old man from Bayham was charged with six counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purposes of trafficking and fail to comply with a recognizance.
He was arrested without incident and was held for a court appearance on Dec. 1.
A 45-year-old Vienna man was charged with six counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purposes of trafficking.
He was arrested without incident and was held for a court appearance on Dec. 2.
Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police along with OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit, West Region Emergency Response Unit and West Region K9 Unit executed the three search warrants, two at Plank Road properties and the third on Glen Erie Line east of Port Burwell.
Two of the properties were private residences and the third was a business.
Police seized hydromorphone pills, oxycodone pills, morphine pills, crystal methamphetamine, codeine pills and cocaine, together worth a street valued of about $8,300.
Police also seized drug paraphernalia associated with the trafficking of illegal drugs, surveillance equipment and Canadian currency.
