Fun hoops session benefits Epilepsy Support Centre
Senior boys basketball player Quinn Donelan, middle (with the ball), managed to jump by Elgin Referees team member Rich Coriveau, left, for a layup during an exhibition game held at East Elgin Secondary School on Wednesday evening, March 30 to raise money and awareness for the Epilepsy Support Centre in London. Seen at right looking on was Elgin Referees player Casey Herbert. The team of Elgin basketball referees beat the younger EESS players 72-43 but what really mattered was the $615 raised for the Epilepsy Support Centre through donations collected during the game and sales from an earlier pizza lunch at the school. The Epilepsy Support Centre enhances the lives of people who are affected by epilepsy and seizure disorders by providing a network of services that educate, support, and build community awareness. March was national Epilepsy Awareness Month.
