Checking the (hot) trunk
Two volunteer firefighters were about to pry open the trunk of a derelict car that was set on fire on the grounds of the Ontario Police College located northeast of Aylmer along Hacienda Road on Saturday morning, April 30 during the Joint Action Training Group exercises hosted by the Aylmer and Malahide Fire Departments. The weekend long training sessions included less heated demonstrations at the Aylmer fire station. Volunteer firefighters from municipal departments throughout Elgin and Oxford counties participated in the training exercises which included live fire tactics at the police college with car burns, seen here, room burns and grass fires. The exercises at the Aylmer fire hall included fire cause, determination and preservation training as well as fire protection systems.
