Margaret Grant

Peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 8, 2022, Margaret Jane (Brown) Grant passed away at the age of 103 years.  Beloved wife of 64 years to the Late Robert Vernon Grant (2005) of Straffordville.  She was also predeceased by her parents Helena and Marshall Brown of Port Burwell, also by her sister Pauline Emerson of Vienna and brother-in-law Ken Emerson, her sister Marion Hoshal and brother-in-law Harold Hoshal of Port Burwell, also by her brother –in-law George Grant and his wife Marion Grant.  She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and by the people of Straffordville.  She was a member of the Straffordville United Church and the UCW and for many years the assistant postmaster in Straffordville. She will always be loved and very sadly missed by her children Perry and his wife Pauline of Straffordville and Elizabeth and her husband The Rev. William Craven of Brampton.  She is survived by her grandchildren Daniel Grant, Douglas Craven, Kelly Kawabe Heslop, Scott Craven, Kerry Craven, Michael and Sarah Carey and Ruth and Adam Mullis.  She will remembered and missed dearly and sadly by her great-grandchildren to whom she made a constant and continuing effort to show her love with her knitting and her cards and gifts and her thoughtfulness- Morgaine and Grant Craven, Mariko, Kimiko, Kazuya and Toshi Kawabe; Jack and Jordan Craven, Lauryn Craven-Armand, Hannah and Hayden Carey; Robert and Sean Mullis and great-great grandson, Theodore Popma.  Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of service which will be 12:00 noon with The Rev. William Craven and The Rev. Tom Watson presiding.  Interment will follow in the Straffordville Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Bayham United Church or St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
