Moira Menninga
Moira Jean Menninga, age 57 of Fontana, WI passed away as a result of a boating accident on Thursday, April 16, 2026. She was born on September 26, 1968 in Portsmouth, England, the daughter of George and Janice (Birrell) Beveridge.
Moira is survived by her husband, Richard Menninga of Fontana, WI; her children, Clara and Maximilian; her sisters, Alison (Kevin) Burke of Nova Scotia, Canada, Gillian (Jeff) Milcz of Port Stanley, Canada, and Fiona (Mike) Valiquette of Stratford, Canada; and also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Janice Beveridge, and a very close friend, Archie Van Rooijen.
Moira grew up in Aylmer, Ontario. She attended McGregor Elementary, Davenport Middle School, and East Elgin High School. Despite playing almost every sport, she was an avid and successful basketball player, winning multiple titles in Ontario. Her team won the Oxford-Elgin County Regional Championship, the AA WOSSA (Western Ontario Secondary School Association) Championship, and placed second in the A Provincial Ontario Championship (OFSA).
Moira studied business at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she met Rich. Moira married Richard Menninga on August 28, 1993 and they spent the next 32 years happily together. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Despite always telling her children about her “engineering brain,” Moira had an incredibly successful 35 year sales career, where her work ethic and drive were evident. She finished her career at her own company, Caverly LLC.
Moira was a natural connector who loved people and getting people together. She had a passion for cooking and loved nothing more than to host family and friends at home. Nothing made her happier than sharing a meal, wine, and laughs with the people she held close. Fresh flowers, chocolate chip cookies, Harvey’s onion rings, puzzles, shopping on TikTok shop, and having a drink at Chuck’s also never failed to put a smile on her face.
Moira’s biggest passion was for her family. Cooking for, caring for, and traveling with her family made her happiest. Family adventures were had both near and far, having walked the Great Wall in China, sailing the seas in the BVI, and RV-ing through Michigan, among many others.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Big Foot Country Club, 770 Shabbona Dr., Fontana, WI, followed by a celebration of life at Chuck’s.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the Country Club in Fontana, WI.
