Gail Frances Walker

We know that you wanted to spend Christmas with us, but God wanted you more.

Surrounded by her girls Karyn, Kelly, Taylor & Mackenzie, Christmas lights and Christmas music our beloved Mom and Amma passed away peacefully at home following a most admirable and year long battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Born on August 19, 1951 to the late Ferol (Adams) and Ted Procunier, she was the eldest of three children. Left to carry on her legacy are her two daughters Karyn Pressey-Barber (Al) and Kelly Pressey (Larry), as well as granddaughters Taylor Brackenbury (Grant), Mackenzie Brackenbury and Courtney Barber(and her two daughters Allie & Everly). We would like to thank her lifelong friend, Janet Paurys for her support and friendship. Survived by sister Beth Ball of London and Brian and Annette Procunier of Bright’s Grove, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by the love of her life, Kenneth Walker (1998), she treasured memories of times with Ken’s children (Johnny, Stacey, Kenneth and Wanda) and family.

Her career in the medical field began at Hills Pharmacy and soon after she found herself alongside Dr. C.L. Leatherdale in Port Burwell for many years where she met great co-workers and numerous patients. Upon his retirement, she finished her career at East Elgin Family Health Team in Aylmer.

You could always count on Mom to be helping out the girls for an upcoming craft show and making her own delicious creations of preserves and baked goods. These skills poured over to her integral role at Richmond United Church, where she seasonally decorated and contributed to the well being of our congregation through fundraising for the church. From the Fall Craft Fair to ‘Christmas, Trees Goodies and Angels’ and numerous church suppers over the years, Mom organized everything meticulously. Her faith and church family were a constant guide throughout her life.

Mom, although we feel that you slipped through our fingers, we take comfort in knowing, ‘it is well with your soul.’

As per Gail’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time. There will be a graveside service at the Richmond Cemetery and Celebration of Life to follow in the spring. Donations to the Richmond United Church would be appreciated. Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
