With the love of her family surrounding her, Mrs. Jeannette Christiaen, formerly of Delhi and Aylmer, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in her 97th year. Born in Torhout, Belgium, Jeannette was raised on her family’s farm. In 1948, she immigrated to Canada and eventually settled near Aylmer. Alongside her beloved husband Alberic (1987), she grew tobacco for more than 35 years while raising their family on the Copenhagen farm. She found great joy in her vegetable gardens, flowers, community and many treasured friendships. Jeannette’s hands were rarely idle. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting, baking and canning. She was a gifted cook whose treasured Flemish recipes brought family and friends around her table. Her faith was important to her, and she generously volunteered within her church and community. Above all, Jeannette’s greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered for her strength, generosity and the love she gave so freely. Former Jeannette Marie Plaisier. Deeply loved Mother of Kathleen (Michael), Terrance (1979) and Marlene (Brian). Cherished and devoted Grandma to Blair (Lisa), Kendle (Dan), and Bryan (1979).  Loving Metje to Sydney, Gavin, Lucas and Marissa. Special Gramma Jeannette to Craig, Colin, Christine, Corrin, and their families. As per Jeannette’s wishes, a private family funeral service was held with interment in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Aylmer. Donations to the Campfire Circle (Camp Trillium) or to the charity of your choice can be made through the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290, www.mfh.care, and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
